Welcome for Council’s Proposals for St. Brogan’s Bus Stop
Issued : Monday 20 September, 2010
Labour Party Councillor for Bandon, Gearóid Buckley has welcomed proposals from Cork County Council for the establishment of a bus stop at St. Brogan’s College. Cork County Council presented the proposals at this month’s meeting of Bandon Town Council.
Cllr. Buckley said, ‘I am delighted with this proposal and I think it will meet with the satisfaction of the students, parents and school authorities. Safety is paramount at all times and I am please that this proposal incorporates many of the ideas that I included in my submission to Cork County Council earlier in the year (please see attached).
‘The Council’s proposal must now be put to Cork County VEC for agreement before it will come back to the County Council for approval. This has been a matter of concern to parents and teachers for some time and I would urge all involved to make every effort to expedite the process so that students can get to and from school as safely as possible.’
