Pay Parking

A recent survey carried out by the Bandon Labour Party Branch on Pay Parking has highlighted some controversial results.

98% of people surveyed believe that the 30minutes free should be here to stay, many people (66%) also believed that this free period should be made longer than 30minutes. 61% of people surveyed also believe that the free 30minutes was attractive to visitors. However many acknowledged that it may be difficult for one off visitors to understand this free 30minute system.

“This is the second survey the Branch has carried out in as many years. Cllr Gearóid Buckley believed that a survey was essential before making any submissions to the Pay Parking Review. “As a public representative it is my job to listen to peoples concerns and represent those views to the best of my ability. Because the attitude of the public is varied on this issue I believe it would have been remiss of me not to carry out a survey. From the results we put together a comprehensive submission to Cork County Council. Our submission can be downloaded below.alternatively I can send you a copy by post if you wish.”

“Cork County Council after a rigours review of submissions and the current system will soon publish their recommendations for the Pay Parking system in Bandon. Keep an eye out in local media for these, and contact me with your views.”
